These stunning Welsh Whips are completely hand braided, and really "complete the look" when showing Welsh Ponies in hand.
Traditional measurements are (shaft) 35cm, (braided lash) 40cm, (leather thong) 25cm. The shaft measurement is taken from the top of the "topper".
There are two methods of attachment for the shaft/lash. Firstly, with a "flapper" attachment. This allows the lash to be removed from the shaft piece. The shaft can then be used as a short cane if desired.
The second option for attachment (which looks super neat) is a continuation of braid off the end of the tapered shaft. You could say this is the "JMJ twist" on this style of cane. It is the most popular style ordered.
The shaft for this cane will be one of our standard tapered shafts. If you're after something thicker, longer, or non tapered - contact us via messenger to arrange.
Like all of our canes, you can select the topper of your choice. Whether its antler, a welsh dragon button, or one of our signature toppers with your initial - YOU DO YOU. Have it made exactly how you want it. There's no right or wrong here !!!
Welsh In Hand Whip
Features - Braided leather shaft and lash. This whip can accomodate any of our JMJ toppers. The standard diemsions of this whip are 40cm shaft (topper to end of shaft) 40cm braided lash, with a 25cm leather tassle. Red plaited string (with knots) in the tassle area is optional.
Additional customizations include the "shaft thickness".
